Privacy policy

From Dogcraft Wiki

Who are we?

We are Dogcraft.net, which is the brand under which RenDog and his staff provide his fans with a community website, forum and Minecraft servers, free of charge.

In the event of questions about your privacy on Dogcraft.net, please contact us via our website at https://dogcraft.net/contact

What do we collect, and why?

We collect a variety of information from you and about you, which is different for our web site and for our Minecraft servers. We are allowed to use most of this information to pursue our legitimate interests, although some of it requires your consent. If we need your consent, we mention this below.

In the event of your being banned from the services we provide, we will indefinitely retain only enough information to enforce that ban.

In our forum, which is located in the United Kingdom:

  • We store your username, and a secure hash of your password. These are so that you can authenticate yourself to our website.
We keep these until you close your account.

  • We store your email, so that you can recover your password if you need to, and so that we can send you notifications when things happen on the web site, or when this privacy notice changes.
We keep this until you close your account.

  • We store information about when you last logged into the web site, so that we can tell you what's new since you were last here.
We keep this information until the next time you log in.

  • We store your IP address, and previous IP addresses that you have used. We use this information to more effectively ban disruptive users, or to track potential unauthorised logins for a user.
We keep this until you close your account.

  • We ask you for your date of birth. This is so that we know whether you are under 16 years old, in which case we need to take extra care with your personal information.
We keep this until you close your account or you remove it.

  • We can store your gender, contact information on messaging networks and other social media, your web site and your Minecraft username. This is completely optional, and may be displayed on your profile. We require your consent for this.
We keep this until you close your account or you remove it.

  • We can store information about your Patreon account, so that we can provide you with your monthly rewards; a boost and an in-game title. We require your consent for this.
We keep this until you or Patreon.com choose to disconnect it.

  • We can associate your Mojang UUID with your forum account. This is only after you link your account from in Minecraft, because we require players on our Minecraft server to have forum accounts.
We keep this until you close your forum account.

  • We can allow you to log in using other social media accounts. Should you make use of this, we store enough information to identify and link your accounts.
We keep this until you or the linked service choose to disconnect it.

  • We also store all of your submitted forum posts, so that we can show them to users reading the forum. We require your consent for this.
     We keep forum posts indefinitely.

  • We store details of purchases you have made, including the amount you paid via PayPal and the country of origin, for accounting and auditing purposes, and to ensure that things you have paid for are available to you. We require your consent for this.
We keep these details until they are no longer required either by you or for auditing purposes.

  • We store your private messages, so that we can show them to the recipient. We require your consent for this.
We keep private messages until you close your account, or you delete your messages. The recipient retains their copy, if any.

  • Our web server also logs connections from IP addresses with their date, time and the URL that was accessed. This is used to detect intrusion attempts, ensure server health and to monitor the way the website is behaving.
We keep this for three months.

In our Minecraft servers, which are located in France:

  • We associate your Mojang UUID with your forum account. This is because we don't allow players to participate until they have seen this privacy notice.
We keep this until you close your forum account.

  • We log your IP address, and the times that you have connected to and disconnected from the server. We use this information to ensure that the server is working properly, so that we can track how heavily our server is used, and so that we can track intrusion attempts or abuse.
We keep this for three months.

  • We log every command that you run on the server. We use this to track intrusions attempt or abuse, and to offer technical support on commands to users.
We keep this for three months.

  • We log everything you say in the in-game chat, including private messages. Moderators can see this information in real time. We use this to review player and moderator behaviour, and for safeguarding of players against bullying, etc.
We keep this for three months.

  • We log contents of signs that you place in the game. Moderators can see this information in real time. This is so that we can track abusive or profane language left by players.
We keep this for six months.

  • Through the EU based MCLink service (https://mclink.dries007.net/) we obtain and keep information about whether you are one of RenDog's Patreon patrons or Twitch subscribers. We only do this if you have already linked using their service.
We keep the information until you next log in to the Minecraft server.

What we share with others

Banned players. We share information about banned players (their Minecraft UUID and last known name, and a brief reason why they were banned) with the owners and admins of other Minecraft servers, specifically those belonging to the HermitCraft community. This information is shared so that servers can pay additional attention to players who have been banned from other servers in the community.

Linked logins. If you log in to our website using a linked social media account, that social media network will be made aware of the fact that you did this.

Mojang account. Our Minecraft servers are online servers, meaning that every time you log in, your Minecraft account is authenticated by Mojang. Mojang will therefore be made aware that you have logged into our server, and at what time.

Paypal. If you purchase anything from our Store, payment is made by PayPal. Your transaction is processed through PayPal. All PayPal transactions are subject to the PayPal Privacy Policy (this links to the UK version).

We do not share any other information with any third party.

Your rights

The data we keep about you is your data, and is held within the European Union. This means that you have certain rights:

  1. The right to be informed

Your first right is that we tell you about the data we keep about you, and what your rights are. This is the basis of this very privacy notice.

  2. The right of access

You have the right to know what information we have about you, so that you can check if we'e using it properly. Get in touch with Ren (his email is at the top of this notice) or any of the server admins or head moderators to arrange to see your data.

  3. The right to rectification

If what we know about you is wrong, you have the right to correct it. Mostly this can be done in your profile in the web forum, but we can help out too.

  4. The right to erasure

This is your right to be forgotten. If you don't want us to have your personal information any more, you can ask us to get rid of it. We won't normally get rid of a ban record, but we will get rid of anything else. This will mean that you lose your login.

  5. The right to restrict processing

If you think something is going wrong, you can ask us to stop doing anything with your data for a while - even deleting it - while you or we check it out.

  6. The right to data portability

You have the right to take your data and use it elsewhere, in a common and open, structured format that a computer can use. If you want to do this, get in touch and we'll find out the best way to do this for you.

  7. The right to object

You may, at any point, object to our processing of your personal information on grounds relating to your particular situation. Any such objection should be made to Ren, whose email is at the top of this notice.

  8. Rights in relation to automated decision making and profiling

While you have various rights relating to profiling and automated decision-making, we simply do not engage in either of these activities.
