Cathedral was the base of 20.png JarrydG_ZA on the Survival 3 world of the Dogcraft Server.

About

The Cathedral base/project was started and owned by JarrydG_ZA. There were many helpers who contributed to the project.

Prominent features of the cathedral included a dug up void floor and a small village. Unfortunately due to the size of this project it was never fully finished.

History

Wheat Fields Surrounding Cathedral

This base was founded at the beginning of Survival 3 upon finding a large mushroom island. Official work on the Cathedral was started 2 months into Survival 3. This base was inspired by the immense amount of detail found in real life cathedrals around the world. Due to the fact that a lot of digging was done on stream, many other players volunteered to help, a few are mentioned here: 20.png almightyanna 20.png dmgdog 20.png Martin_Natorian 20.png codefreak 20.png RY44 20.png DragonFire441 20.png s0lli 20.png Xman404 20.png marbou9.

The plan was to have floating islands within the dug up space below the main cathedral building which would house various farms. The area surrounding the cathedral was to be terraformed.

A significant neighbour was the Isle of Chronia to the north-west.

Cathedral SRN Branch Line Station

Notable builds and features

  • Void floor - spanned over 300 chunks in total and was dug down to bedrock.
  • SRN Branch Line Station - was to be connected to the SRN Branch Line Station in Chronia.
  • Storage - formally located within the dug up floor, was later moved into the roof and expanded.
  • Small village area - included fields as well as various buildings like a barn and housing for villagers.
