The hunt involved finding hidden chests around the city, each of which contained a token that could be redeemed for a unique named treasure piece which ranged from tools to blocks of iconic buildings as well as a few diamonds. Most items had either in-game of real life historical reference. Some examples are: 'Ford Fairlane' minecart, 'Moustache hair of Fidel Castro' string, '1715 plate fleet treasure' gold block and 'piece of Havana City Hall' nether brick.

The Starter Supply Depot (SSD) is a project supplying equipment to new players on the Dogcraft Server, originally founded by Joseph6790. The project has created a public place devoted to helping new players start by supplying starter gear like iron armor, tools, food, and other basic materials.
The city's Noob Square was dressed for the occasion with cakes and treasure collection stands where Havana council members would exchange the tokens for treasures. Free t-shirts were given out as memorabilia. The hunt was considered a success and all treasures were found within a few hours of the hunt's beginning.

The project is funded through player donations and accepts items such as iron, tools, armor, and food. It does not, however, accept donations of any late-game items like diamonds, in line with Dogcraft's policies against heavy donations to brand new players.

Husky
The Husky SSD was the original depot. It was constructed by joseph6790. The depot contains an armor and tools station, a food station, an enchanting station, a treefarm, sheep, cow and pig containers, and a few vegetable farms such as wheat, carrots, potatoes, and beetroots. The location of it is directly outside of spawn. It is near the Husky Map Art Gallery and the Husky NTN Headquarters.

Beagle
The Beagle SSD was constructed by all four members of the SSD. This SSD contains all of the farms from the Husky SSD, including a place for new players to get skeleton horses. It is located closely outside of spawn, and it is also near the Beagle NTN Headquarters.

Anyone is welcome to donate and help out if they please.

Notices
*Please do not donate diamond gear or anything of the sort. We have been receiving lots of it lately and it does not follow our goal, we do not want to get players to end game, we want to help them get out into the world.
*The Beagle SSD is almost complete! We just need to change up some final things and it will be open to the public.
*joseph6790 is back!

Historical Context
Some projects similar to the Starter Supply Depot were present in earlier worlds, although not directly connected to the modern day equivalent.

Survival 1:

Spawn had a few basic starter farms, along with a tree farm made by _edo and a few other player-made projects that had a lot of similar resources like the SSD has in its current form. It was not organized as the "Starter Supply Depot" until Sur4.

Survival 2:

Spawn only offered a wheat farm outside the castle, although the City of Havana did provide a few starter farms, such as cobblestone, wood, food (wheat,) and enchantments.

Survival 3:

There were not resources available for new players on Survival 3, as in the past they caused a lot of problems for moderators. Although, there was a phantom shelter and a few donation chests for food at spawn.

The Havana Treasure Hunt was a small event held on the 2nd of September 2018, in the City of Havana and run by the city's council. The event was created in celebration of the city's first anniversary, which coincided with the anniversary of the Survival 2 world as a whole.

RY44 redeeming his treasure

The hunt involved finding hidden chests around the city, each of which contained a token that could be redeemed for a unique named treasure piece which ranged from tools to blocks of iconic buildings as well as a few diamonds. Most items had either in-game of real life historical reference. Some examples are: 'Ford Fairlane' minecart, 'Moustache hair of Fidel Castro' string, '1715 plate fleet treasure' gold block and 'piece of Havana City Hall' nether brick.

The city's Noob Square was dressed for the occasion with cakes and treasure collection stands where Havana council members would exchange the tokens for treasures. Free t-shirts were given out as memorabilia. The hunt was considered a success and all treasures were found within a few hours of the hunt's beginning.
